Experience in a previous industry role is not essential.
What you will be doing:
Working within a team of commercial property claims handlers, to manage own case load of commercial claims from cradle to grave, including all points of contact, technical scope building, liability decision making and project management of repairs.
You will need to:
Key Responsibilities
To pro-actively handle a case owned individual portfolio of commercial property claims within a delegated authority.
To validate and assess insurers liability for claims up to the value of £100,000
Deliver claim declinature decisions accurately, informatively & timely.
To build an accurate scope of reinstatement commercial building repair, considering CDM requirements at all times.
Review and maintain accurate reserves.
Work collaboratively with external supplier, brokers, insurers, loss adjusters & customers.
Ensure customer, broker & all parties involved with claim are kept up to date and communicated with regularly.
Accurately document all conversations, written communication and post on the claim file
Ensure daily diary management (claim and personal)
Attend site & project manage on-going repair where necessary.
Liaise with all relevant parties
To identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the development, delivery and maintenance of HRNL
Operational Business Services & Standards.
The Person Specification
HRNL would like applicants to be able to demonstrate the qualifications, skills, experience and attributes listed below to be considered.
Skills, Qualities & Knowledge Essential Desirable
GCSE Grades A to C or equivalent are essential, specifically
Maths and English. 2017 grading system, grade 9 - grade 4
Cert CII or DIP CII qualified
RICS or equivalent qualified
Awareness & understanding of CDM regulation
Experience of managing Commercial Property Claims
Experience of managing Commercial Property Dilapidation &
Reinstatement projects
Experience of tendering for building works & reserving
Excellent attention to detail & strong organisational skills to manage own portfolio of commercial claims.
Considered an experienced user of MS Office
High Level IT proficiency including use of industry scoping systems (Symbility / Xactware)
Self-motivated & reliable
Confidence with meeting/speaking to new people and conversing with ease
Good Verbal and Numerical Ability
Ability to communicate at all levels
Team Player and must be able to work unsupervised
Pro-active attitude to challenging circumstances
Flexible approach to change, solution-focused, works well to deadlines

Hours per 37.5 Working pattern: Business operates between 08:00 & week: 18:00 and a shift patten will resume at some point.
