The Patient Care Assistant role is one of the foundations of an outstanding veterinary practice, as a PCA you would be involved in supporting our team of qualified RVNs and Vets to provide outstanding care to our patients, working alongside a lovely team of people. This role will involve animal handling, assisting vets and nurses in restraining animals for treatment, cleaning, walking and feeding patients, general cleaning and maintenance duties, answering phone calls, reception cover, greeting clients and providing the highest standards of animal and customer care.
**This is a part-time position, where you will be working on a 2-week rolling rota consisting of the following shift patterns**:
**Week 1**:Monday - Tuesday 19.00 - 23.30 and Saturday - Sunday 15.00 - 23.30
**Week 2**: Wednesday - Friday 19.00 - 23.30
**Main duties**:
- Helping keep the area clean
- Stocking up
- Managing the laundry
- Providing food and water for the patients
- Walking dogs
- Updating hospital records daily
- Keeping the patients clean and groomed
- Helping to keep our patients comfortable
- Assisting Vets and nurses with patient care
- Using the lab machines to run in-house tests
The salary for this position will be in line with the National Minimum Wage +3% cost of living increase.
