This role could also be based at any of our UK offices
We are looking for talented and motivated engineers to strengthen our multi-disciplinary team, providing consultancy services to key clients in the nuclear industry.
We support our nuclear clients as they move from the evaluation of concepts, to operation, through to life extension and finally deconstruction and decommissioning.
We are looking for engineers with extensive experience, with a focus on the structural assessment and reliability assessment of safety critical components. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality and innovative solutions to meet our customer’s requirements.
You will join our successful team, contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects. Depending on your level or experience, you will have regular contact with clients throughout a project, typically defining the work scope and preparing proposals, you will undertake the work itself and will prepare and deliver the results to the client. You will manage tasks to time, cost and quality expectations and you will develop future business.
You will be based in the Built Environment Group which provides expert advice on materials challenges, hazards assessment and assurance acting as an interface between engineering sciences and civil engineering projects.
**Requirements**:
The successful applicant will meet the following minimum requirements:
You will have an Honours degree, masters or PhD in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
Chartered with the Institute of Civil Engineers or Institute of Structural Engineers (or demonstrating considerable years of experience).
Experience in a highly regulated industry Nuclear, Defence or Petrochemical.
It is to your advantage if you meet any or all the following additional requirements:
**An appreciation for, or experience in**:
Development of requirements and the authoring of design substantiation reports
Fracture mechanics and defect tolerance assessment
Probabilistic and their use in assessments
Earthquake engineering and seismic qualification
Experience of design and assessment to Eurocodes or other recognised civil/structural design standards
Safety case development or nuclear safety legislation, regulation and policy
Some programming or numerical analysis experience in finite element or structural code assessment tool.
An aptitude for, or experience, building client relationships and generating business
