The Active Wellbeing Society (TAWS) is a community benefit society that aims to build happy, healthy communities living active and connected lives. We work with communities to tackle inequalities and promote community wellbeing. All of our activities and interventions are grounded in principles co-production, ‘working with’ not ‘doing to’. We work with communities at a grassroots level to amplify the voices of people who are often unheard and work together to bring about sustainable change.

**Share Shack Service & Mobile Share Shacks**

Share Shacks are community spaces for residents to share, create and grow. A space to connect with each other by borrowing, repairing, re-using and being creative. A place to celebrate the strengths and assets in each community.

Mobile Share Shacks are an extension of our sharing model and we have worked in collaboration with Sport England and the Commonwealth Games Circular Economy sustainability legacy group to develop an outreach share and connect model. We have two retro fitted vans which will attend community events as well as have designated routes to travel into community areas. The mobile share shacks will provide an agility to respond to community need and a wider reach into communities to provide platforms of support to improve individual and community wellbeing. Encouraging community members to get involved in physical activities, learn a new skill, borrow items reducing waste, or give back to their community by volunteering or supporting at events and activities. The mobile Share Shacks will be a legacy asset based in local communities for people to use, receive support and volunteer to run themselves long after the Commonwealth Games have come to an end.

**Share & Connect -Mobile Community Engagement Role**

This is an exciting new role and we are looking for someone with the enthusiasm and passion to engage with a wide range of individuals and communities. 3. Enhance the wider sharing economy offer through offering skills sharing sessions. Utilising volunteers to led sessions such as demonstrating how to reuse and repair items to reduce waste.

4. Increase physical activity levels by making physical activity equipment available for everyone to use, and reduce pressure for people to buy new equipment.

5. Delivery of large items e.g., tables, chairs, gazebos, roof boxes, to residents who are unable to collect from fixed Share Shacks

6. Oversee and maintain current stock, ensuring health and safety standards and PAT testing is up to date

7. Accompany wider TAWS delivery such as the Big Feed, Listen & Connect, Active Streets, Bike Fix It Cafes.

8. Increase partnership opportunities and joint delivery with hyper local grassroots organisations

9. Provide a safe, accessible, and welcoming space in communities for people to come and visit, meet others, borrow items, and learn new skills.

10. Increase access to volunteering opportunities; greater opportunity to volunteer in one’s own community

11. Work with the team and the wider organisation to support and develop communities within the city, particularly those in the most deprived areas by fully utilising Mobile Share Shacks.

12. Assist with the promotion of the Mobile Share Shack and data capture to monitor the progress and impact of the service.

13. To and drive a fully equipped transit van transporting equipment from our Birmingham based depot to parks and community areas across the Birmingham. Including loading/unloading of equipment
