**Hours of work**

**The role**

All staff share the responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the students, in accordance with the School’s safeguarding policies.

**Key responsibilities**
- 11:30am - 2:00pm assisting with lunch service in the main school kitchen followed by assisting in the new Sixth Form Centre Café until 5:30pm.
- To provide exceptional customer service by displaying a positive, helpful and welcoming manner at all times.
- Prepare and serve all beverages as well as hot and cold food items. Striving at all times to exceed and compete with standards set by high street outlets.
- Assist the Café Manager by monitoring product popularity and introducing fresh ideas.
- Be aware of stock levels in all areas and refilling when necessary. Highlighting any reordering needs to the Café Manager.
- Correctly taking card payments from customers.
- Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic approach to other members of the catering team at all times.
- Ensuring that all areas of the work environment are hygienic, safe, tidy, and free of hazards, and that appropriate cleaning and food hygiene documents are completed as required by the Café Manager.
- Being responsible for the completion of additional tasks and duties relating to your role upon request by the Café Manager.
- Attend catering team meetings as a pro-active team member offering input and fresh ideas.

COMMUNICATION
- To maintain clear and effective communication with the Café Manager.

OTHER
- Attend meetings and training courses as required.
- A commitment to safeguarding our students in line with the School’s Safeguarding policies.

**Salary and benefits**
- This is a permanent, part-time post working on a term-time plus 4 weeks basis in line with published School dates plus 4 weeks during school holidays.
- Paid pro-rata holiday entitlement of 6.6 weeks (this is based on a full-time equivalent amount of 7.6 weeks per year inclusive of public holidays), to be taken during the School holidays.
- The salary range for this post is between £15,666 (min) to £16,229 (max) pro-rata (based on a full-time equivalent range of £22,596 to £23,408). Starting salary will be dependent upon skills and experience.
- Employees may join a stakeholder pension scheme. The School currently double matches employee contributions with a minimum employee contribution of 3%. The maximum employer contribution is capped at 10% of gross salary. The School also offers a salary sacrifice scheme for pension contributions.
- Employees are entitled to free lunches in the Refectory when the kitchens are operating and their working hours span the lunch period.
