Glasgow, United Kingdom First Bus Full time

**Position Title**:Internal Communications & Engagement Partner

**Reports to**: Head of People /Internal Communications Manager

**Location**: Scotland (Flexible)

**Job type**: Full-time

**About First Bus**

At First Bus, we're on a mission to get more people to use the bus. Our aim is to deliver great services to help promote and cement the status of the bus as a great value, credible everyday choice.

We're not asking anyone to suddenly sell their car and convert to being a full-time bus user overnight (although we'd love it if they did). We're simply asking more people to consider using the bus as one of the most environmentally friendly choices you can make.

First Bus is going to stand up for the humble bus and tell the world why it's the future. For society, for local economies, for the planet - for all.

We want to grow bus usage, so we'll get behind initiatives that move people out of their cars and onto the bus. We'll continue to invest in our people, our services and state-of-the-art technology as we look to improve our customers' experiences. We take great pride in delivering an essential service for our customers and will strive to continually improve our offering.

We're transforming our business for our colleagues too, with an aim to ensure First Bus is a place where everyone can feel welcome, be their true selves and succeed together.

At the same time, we're focused on becoming a leader in the transition to a low-carbon future and are committed to operating a zero-emission bus fleet by 2035. We're harnessing the talent amongst us and upskilling our people to take them on this journey with us - not because of rules or regulations, but because it's the right thing to do.

**Our Local Business Units (LBUs)**

First Bus is split into six Local Business Units (LBUs):

- Scotland
- North & West Yorkshire
- Manchester Midlands & South Yorkshire
- Wales & West
- South & South West
- East of England

Each LBU will have one Internal Communications & Engagement Partner

**Position Summary**

We might be a bus company, but there's a whole lot more to what we get involved with. From projects and partnerships to events and personal stories; you won't be bored with what we want you to sink your teeth into.

We're looking for a high energy individual who loves working with people to make sure our colleagues are always up-to-date with what's going on, as well as someone who isn't afraid to ask questions, get to the bottom of an issue to ensure our messages are clear and who is prepared to try new ways of communicating to ensure we get the best out of our internal comms.

If you have proven experience in internal comms and you are just as comfortable bringing colleagues' great stories to life as you are transforming complicated stats into easily digestible information, then this might be the role for you. Working within our [XXX] LBU, you'll be responsible for driving internal comms and engagement activity throughout the region - collaborating with stakeholders to make First Bus a great place to work.

You'll need to be a confident communicator with knowledge of effective employee engagement strategies. Due to the broad nature of the role, you get involved with a whole host of issues and projects. Prioritisation and multi-tasking will be key, but in return you'll get a real sense of job satisfaction when you see our colleague engagement scores rise

Reporting into the Head of People within the LBU, you'll also work closely with our UK First Bus Internal Comms team, and particularly the Internal Comms Manager, as well as our local PR Manager to ensure our colleagues get to hear about what we're doing and our success stories before the outside world does.
