**Job Purpose**
The School of Social and Political Sciences is seeking to appoint two Lecturers in International Relations. The post holder(s) will conduct research in International Relations as well as deliver teaching on Politics and International Relations modules. We welcome applicants with expertise in any area of International Relations. This could include, but need not be limited to, a focus on critical IR, security, crises, inequalities and/or international organisations.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities** -4. Contribute to the on-going development and design of the curriculum in a manner that supports a research-led and scholarly approach to student learning and assessment in the discipline and/or profession.
5. Participate fully in examination and other assessment processes, as appropriate, using a variety of methods and techniques and to provide effective, timely and appropriate feedback to students to support their learning.
6. Supervise individual student projects at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, and to contribute to the supervision and training of postgraduate research students, as appropriate, to ensure their effective development.
8. Engage in professional development as appropriate.
9. To contribute to the enhancement of the University’s international profile in line with the University’s Strategic Plan - World Changers Together.

**For appointment at Grade 8, in addition to the duties and responsibilities above**:
11. Develop a growing portfolio of research outputs and activities and support early career staff in developing their own portfolio.

**Qualifications**

**Essential**:

A1: PhD or equivalent in Politics and International Relations or a related discipline.
A2: Membership of relevant Professional Society, if appropriate.

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**

**Essential**:

C1: Research expertise and specialist knowledge of International Relations and experience delivering teaching on International Relations.
C2: Developing track record of research outputs compatible with enhancing the School’s research profile in accordance with School objectives.
C3: Good communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels within the Subject, School, College, University, and beyond, in the academic, policy and practitioner communities.
C4: Engagement with the current and future priorities of School and College strategies, aims and ambitions.
C5: Ability to lead and deliver high quality and innovative University teaching, including assessment and curriculum development.

**For Appointment at Grade 8, In addition to the Knowledge, Skills & Experience listed above**:

C6: Ability to contribute to broader leadership and management activities along with an awareness of current and future priorities of the University/College/School/Service.


**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 7/ 8, £37,474, - £42,155 / £46,047 - £53,353 per annum.
This post is full time and open ended.
