Senior Funds Officer

Southampton Hospitals Charity is looking to appoint a Senior Funds Officer.
This unique and newly created role will work alongside the Charity operations, Charity finance and UHS Trust finance teams, and will be key in supporting and guiding fund holders to spend funds and where possible, consolidate and reduce fund numbers as part of the wider Charity strategy.
The role will provide leadership and support, around charitable fund expenditure - inline with the Trust policies and Charity Commission guidance. The post holder will also provide practical support to staff using the Trust purchasing systems and guidance.

YOUR MAIN DUTIES
Working alongside the Charity operations, Charity finance and Trust finance teams, this is a new role and will be key to support and guide fund holders to spend funds and where possible, consolidate and reduce fund numbers as part of the wider Charity Strategy.
You will work closely with staff and fund holders to review and analyse funds and come up with spending plans in line with Trust and Charity priorities. Supporting fund holders through the necessary processes.

1. Analysing expenditure requests, submitted to the hospital Charity, and making recommendations as to whether they should be approved or not;
2. Working with fund holders to develop spending plans, within given time scales and ensuring they align with wider Divisional and Care Group strategies and priorities;
3. Obtain quotes and ordering items through a variety of means with specific responsibility for accurate inputting of charitable orders and liaising with procurement teams and ward staff;
4. Identify designated funds that would be suitable for consolidation and / or repurposing and liaise with charity finance and operations teams to deliver on fund reduction and impactful expenditure.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will lead on analysing expenditure requests, submitted to the hospital Charity, and making recommendations as to whether they should be approved or not and providing fund holders with the correct support to ensure correct procedures are followed.
Working closely with fund holders you will help them to develop spending plans, working within given time scales and ensuring they align with wider Divisional and Care Group strategies and priorities you will be the key link between all key stakeholders.
You will work with the Trust purchasing team and external suppliers to obtain quotes and order items through a variety of means with specific responsibility for accurate inputting of charitable orders and liaising with procurement teams and ward staff.
Another key aspect of the role is to identify designated funds that would be suitable for consolidation and/or repurposing and liaise with charity finance and operations teams to deliver on fund reduction and impactful expenditure inline with the Charity’s key priorities.
