First Trace is an award-winning family business, based in the Docklands area in Preston and are suppliers of underfloor heating and electrical trace heating.

As a result of significant growth, we have an exciting opportunity to expand our technical sales & design team by recruiting an additional quote, design and technical sales advisor to our water underfloor heating and heat pump department. No previous underfloor experience is required although previous 2D CAD or similar experience is preferable.

**ROLE OVERVIEW**:
The role will be based in our friendly, relaxed offices near the Docks in Ashton-on-Ribble where we operate a fixed working week Monday - Friday 8:30-5pm.

**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Providing customers with accurate quotations and designs
- Driving upsell/cross sell opportunities when applicable, including both water & electric underfloor heating products
- Follows up quotations with customers to maximise sales opportunities

A strong attention to detail and customer-centric focus is essential in this role.

**Are you technically minded?**

You do not need to have any prior knowledge of our product range, but this is a technical role; you will be required to learn about our products and systems and provide advice to customers, eventually providing training to others as your experience builds. An inquisitive mindset and a natural interest in how and why things work would serve you well. Our products are electrical and plumbing related so an interest or base knowledge in those areas would be beneficial but is not a pre-requisite. If you have a ‘handy’ hobby or technical interest outside of work you will likely find this role stimulating.

**Are you highly organised?**

This is a fast-paced role and two days are never the same. Our sales change throughout the year so the team has to adapt. You need to be ready to react to and deal with issues as they arise, and additional tasks assigned to you, as well as staying on top of the day-to-day priorities.

**Are you a highly effective communicator with strong inter-personal skills?**

Solid communication skills and the natural ability to form strong working relationships at all levels is essential to this role; our office environment is informal in nature. Our customer base is largely from the plumbing/building trade so we would describe our approach as friendly and down to earth rather than corporate.
