**Job Title: Accounts Assistant**
First Trace is an award-winning family business, based in the Docklands area in Preston and are suppliers of underfloor heating and electrical trace heating.
The role will be based in our friendly, relaxed offices near the Docks in Ashton-on-Ribble.
We operate a fixed working week Monday - Friday 8:30-5pm.
In this role, you will be responsible for all sales and purchase ledger activities in addition to for various accounts processing tasks and credit control. As an integral member of our finance team, you will work closely with the more senior staff member to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. Your role will include, but not be limited to:
- Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers, including invoice processing, reconciliation, and data entry.
- Handling supplier queries, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Performing credit control tasks to ensure adherence to customer payment terms.
- Collaborating with other departments to gather relevant financial information and meet reporting requirements.
- Assisting with general day-to-day finance operations.
**Requirements**:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar environment, including experience with sales and purchase ledgers. We are looking for someone to hit the ground running who has clearly demonstrable experience.
- Strong financial awareness and understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft packages.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in numerical data entry.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative, while also being a proactive team player.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with colleagues and external stakeholders.
**Additional Information**:
- The role will report to a qualified experienced senior staff member who is available on a part-time basis. You will be required to forge strong and effective lines of communication with them and work independently on the days they are not in. You will need to be ready to react to and deal with queries as they arise as well as staying on top of the day-to-day priorities.
