**About Our Opportunity**:
As the Lead Transport Planner at EMR, you will manage a dynamic planning team to ensure seamless transport services in line with customer requirements. Your role involves supervising vehicles, trailers, containers, and LGV drivers, maintaining high safety standards and upholding our core values. **What You Will Be Doing**:
- Professionally represent EMR’s transport division and cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Efficiently liaise with internal and external customers to resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and resources for seamless task completion.
- Regular communication with the Regional Transport Manager.
- Promote and ensure compliance with transport policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Identify and implement routing and service level improvements for cost reduction and enhanced customer satisfaction.
- Capture stakeholder feedback for continuous improvement.
**Driver Management**:
- Supervise drivers, manage overtime, and ensure cost control.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with paperwork completion.
- Download driver cards and vehicle data for analysis.
- Ensure driver Working time and EU Rules compliance.
- Inspire a positive Health and Safety ethic, conduct safety talks and driver briefings.
- Hold regular meetings/debriefs with each driver.
- Manage training records and Driver CPC Training.
- Oversee driver recruitment and license checks.
**Vehicle Management**:
- Schedule vehicles for service/safety inspections.
- Aim for optimal vehicle utilisation with mínimal downtime.
- Maintain service wall charts and plan in advance.
- Oversee daily defect checking and collate reports.
- Ensure vehicles are available for inspections.
**Financial**:
- Enter budgets and forecasts monthly.
- Plan vehicle utilisation to achieve haulage cost recovery targets.
- Review monthly costs and recoveries.
- Monitor vehicle-related costs and control driver overtime.
**Records & Reports**:
- Review and file transport-related records.
- Enter Events and Actions into the Event Log and Action Log.
- Utilise Ferian, CMS, and other systems as required.
- Produce monthly reports as needed.
**About You**:
- Previous vehicle routing experience is essential.
- Proven track record of motivating drivers for quality service delivery.
- Experience in making quick decisions under pressure.
- Good understanding of EU drivers' hours, working time directive, and O-license commitments.
- Transport Manager CPC is desirable, OLAT training if no CPC.
- IOSH Managing Safely is desirable, IOSH Supervising Safely is a minimum requirement.
- Strong IT skills (MS Office, vehicle tracking, routing software).
- Valid LGV Class C or C+E license would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of disciplinary procedures and Personal Improvement Plans.
