Institutional Credit Management (ICM) at Citi is a business line to provide integrated end to end credit underwriting, transaction, and portfolio management across all Wholesale Lending in partnership with all the origination businesses of the Institutional Clients Group (ICG) of Citi. We are looking to hire an experienced professional to manage a group called Transaction Management. The role will report directly to the COO of ICG Loans, which would provide visibility to ICG’s senior management.

Transaction Management is responsible for supporting multiple aspects of the lending lifecycle including but not limited to Loan Closing and Servicing Coordination, Support Complex Client Onboarding, Data Management, and Quality Control. The team will own operational oversight of the closing and servicing of all loan transactions to ensure all internal and external requirements are met. This includes data capture, required documentation, regulatory requirements, and conditions precedent are met prior to deal execution. They will ensure all data elements are captured timely, accurately and validated by internal approvals and legal documentation.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage a global cross-business team that was recently built from the ground up as part of one of the firm’s highest priority initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the evolution of a global team of professionals to support Loan Origination across the spectrum of wholesale lending at Citi which includes large complex syndicated and bilateral loans covering but not limited to corporate, commercial, real estate, structured lending, and trade.
- Manage the team of transaction management staff, ensuring proper training and support, consistency of process and controls, and appropriate coverage levels by business or function.
- Partner with each of the originating business lines, credit risk, operations, and legal, implement and evolve the target support model for wholesale lending.
- Responsible for defining and maintaining robust controls and processes to coordinate and close loans, capture data, quality control on all inputs and to review and maintain documentation.
- Ensure that controls and processes meet internal policies and regulatory requirements and expectations.
- Drive the strategic vision for this team by executing the implementation roadmap and working with originating businesses, risk, operations & technology to execute accordingly.
- Participate on new and existing policy and regulatory requirements across wholesale lending. Ensure that the data managed by this team consistently adheres to regulatory and other downstream requirements.
- Work with management to implement operational metrics and risk and control reviews to ensure all stakeholders have end to end transparency.
- Develop and implement management and individual performance metrics and routines across regions and sub
- groups.
- Constantly improve processes, controls, and efficiencies within the group.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

- Experience leading large global teams supporting wholesale lending at large financial Institution.
- Strong knowledge of lending products, credit agreements and their underlying collateral including large complex syndicated and bi-lateral loans.
- Demonstrated skills in building and developing large teams.
- A proven track record working with Technology and Operations on process improvement.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain business line partnerships.
- Comprehensive understanding and awareness of appropriate corporate and regulatory policies in relation to Lending.
- Deep understanding of operational processes supporting Wholesale lending
- Strategic business thinker with global mindset
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Leadership and management of complex and global operational functions
- Track record of establishing a KPI/metrics driven culture
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills and the ability to multi-task effectively in a high-volume environment
