**Salary**: £32,194 to £34,452 plus a location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £32,194 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £34,452 will be via incremental progression.

This is an exciting time to be working as a Fleet Project support manager for the Metropolitan Police Service. The Met are currently exploring options to support the acceleration of decarbonisation to achieve Net Zero Carbon status by 2030. With over 750 alternative-fuel vehicles already on the fleet, we are currently outlining targets for the full rollout of zero-emission-capable vehicles as we transition away from a reliance on petrol and diesel. For the Met, this is both an operational necessity and a legal obligation.

The vision of the Metropolitan Police Service (Met) is to make London safe for everyone. We are radically changing to deliver high-quality policing services in a more efficient and cost-effective way, in line with the Mayor of London’s Police and Crime Plan. Changing operational demands affect the size, make-up, and deployment of our fleet.

The Met’s fleet of 5000 vehicles, 1000 pedal cycles and 25 marine vessels are all important physical assets that enable our officers and staff to carry out their jobs. The vehicles are a workplace for our officers and staff, carry sophisticated equipment for operational policing and providing a safe environment for the transport of the public and prisoners.

MO11 Fleet Services provides professional fleet solutions in support of all operational policing requirements across the Met in the most cost-effective way and is responsible for the entire lifecycle management of the Fleet.

In this crucial role, you’ll be supporting the project support team by providing an administrative role, providing project reports and assist with the day to day running of the department. Working with a diverse range of stakeholders, you will be able to accurately record information and store it in a traceable secure location.

The post is a full-time role (36hrs/week) and you will be expected to work mostly from Marlowe House and at various London locations based upon the needs of the project team.

**How to Apply**

Work closely with Fleet Services colleagues to ensure the design and delivery of:

- Appropriate vehicle/technical recommendations
- Project documentation, including specifications, timetables and delivery schedules, in line with MPS governance
- Liaise closely with MPS stakeholder colleagues to ensure that their input is requested/received, including senior manager approval/sign-off
- Fleet Services’ requirements, recommendations, feedback, queries etc. are clearly communicated and explained
- Liaise with external contractors/suppliers/consultants to ensure that MPS requirements, specifications etc. are understood
- Design Project Framework including project schedule and utilise IT systems to build and format progress reports
- Initiate contact and take part in meetings with relevant parties (including consultation workshops, if required); taking formal minutes as and when required
- Undertake accurate and timely data entry when required
- Assist in drafting project plans for project lead or steering group sign-off
- Identify and where possible resolve risks and problems
- Escalate problems and delays to management
- Assist with ensuring that MPS governance is followed and decisions documented as required, including responsibility for MPS project risk register
- Identify good practice and share lessons learned
- Identify where improvements can be made

**Knowledge**
- Proven track record of successfully supporting projects, as measured in time, cost and quality benefits
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments in order to push forward project objectives
- Previous experience of risk and issue evaluation & management
- Previous experience in running procurements and creating clear project frameworks
- Experience working in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment; showing effective prioritisation and coordination of a varied workload to meet deadlines.
