**Summary**
The Systems Administrator/Senior Systems Administrator is a key position within the IT team at Free Radical Design, which sits in the exciting and fast-paced environment of a videogame development studio.
The IT team supports and underpins all the Studio’s departments, enabling smooth operations by providing proactive support and monitoring of all systems and infrastructure. The role holder will need to deliver as part of the IT team, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to document and explain complex topics for less technical users.
Reporting directly to the Studio’s IT Manager, the role holder has responsibility for the server estate, associated infrastructure, and disaster recovery facilities.
**Responsibilities**
- Monitoring, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of the server estate and associated infrastructure.
- Disaster recovery, failover, and data protection.
- Security and threat prevention.
- Risk assessment and mitigation, prioritising approaches that minimise the risk of data or time loss.
- Troubleshooting and escalating issues in a timely manner.
- Documenting and presenting processes, techniques, knowledge or guidelines, problems and resolutions.
- Monitoring the IT ticketing system and shared mailbox, and responding in a collegial, efficient manner.
- Performing all duties in line with industry best practice, and in adherence to company behavioural expectations.
- Providing cover and support for the rest of the IT Team.

**Essential Skills**
- Experience with server based operating systems and virtualisation.
- Knowledge of PC and Server hardware and software.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management, Change Management, and industry best practice.
- Knowledge of backup and replication services.
- Proficient with scripting languages and automation tools.
- Competencies in networking technologies, load balancing, monitoring, and logging systems.
