PART TIME - 35 HOURS PER WEEK MONDAY TO FRIDAY

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and flexible administrator to join the Looked After Children Team within the Safeguarding Children Service for the Division of Women, Children & Diagnostics. The LAC service is based at Central House in Stockport and is non patient facing.

Previous experience in health services would be desirable. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring an optimum level of efficient administrative support to the nursing team in a timely and accurate manner to enable delivery of this high-quality service to children and families by the health professionals. Previous experience of handing sensitive and confidential information is essential.

- Collecting and inputting data into EMIS, PAS & LAC database, investigating and acting on discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
- Answer telephone calls and action appropriately as the primary contact for the team.
- Support the collection of data using excel spreadsheets and shared drives.
- Maintain client/patient confidentiality and information governance.
- Photocopying, scanning, taking accurate messages for team members.
- To support with taking minutes at meetings.
- Liaison with all partners.
- Support with the induction and training of new employees in the Looked After Children Team admin role.
- Provide cover in sections/bases within the Trust as required
- Any duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Main

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide accurate and efficient administrative and secretarial support, prioritising work to respond to competing demands.
- Maintain and update a variety of computerised systems for Looked After Children.
- Communicate with a variety of internal and external sources as appropriate to ensure that records of Looked After Children are obtained as necessary.
- Communicate with staff in children’s social care in their Looked After Children department to ensure all relevant information is available to health professionals.
- To deal with verbal enquiries relating to Looked After Children.
- Produce information in various formats by use of spreadsheets, database and presentation packages.
- Provide an efficient filing and retrieval system and operation of a bring forward system for matters outstanding.
- Communicate effectively with:
- Members of the Public
- Professional and Clinical Staff
- Senior staff in other departments and organisations
- Administrators in other departments and organisation
- Other members of the department
- Provide administrative support when required to the safeguarding children staff within the Vulnerable Children Team.
- Follow agreed procedures to maintain the Looked After Childrens database.
- To take and produce minutes from meetings.
- To ensure messages are accurately recorded, prioritised and brought to the prompt attention of the Named Nurse or the Specialist Nurses.
- Provide an accurate and efficient administrative support to the Specialist Nurses.
- Such other duties appropriate to the grading of the post as delegated by the named Nurse or Specialist Nurses for Looked After Children.
- Work closely with the safeguarding children team administrators; supporting their administration function as necessary.

Communications
- Communicate clearly and efficiently with staff at all levels across all agencies including the Police, Social Care, professional and clinical staff, senior staff in other departments and organisations, administrators in other departments and organisations.
