We are recruiting for a Caretaker to join our team at one of our schools in Clifton.
As Caretaker you will ensure the safe operation of all services provided to the school and that service delivery is compliant with legislative requirements, company procedures and customer requirements.
You will assist in providing a fully integrated caretaking service to the contract, ensuring efficient and effective service provision in line with agreed specifications, monitor and report on issues to the site manager and to undertake any reasonable taskas requested by the site manager or senior OCS management team.
**Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role**:
The caretaker will be responsible for providing caretaking and minor maintenance within the school. You will work as part of a team to an agreed shift pattern to ensure premises and grounds support across the year.
Be responsible for the cleaning of designated areas (e.g., litter bins, gutters, gullies, and traps, removing graffiti) and consumables replenishment and body spillages. - Be responsible for carrying out cleaning duties when there is a temporary reduction instaff
- Support energy conservation measures
- Be responsible for monitoring energy usage and supplying meter readings
- Check the operation of the fire system on a regular basis, as directed by the PPM system
- Carry out monthly fire door checks as part of the PPM schedule
- Be responsible for noting and reporting repairs requirements through the helpdesk
- Undertake minor maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs and strips, fuses, plugs, unblocking drains, minor joinery etc)
- De-ash Biomass boilers as required once full training is given.
- Move furniture and equipment (in keeping with manual handling guidance)

**To be successful in the role, you will need**:
To be able to undertake basic maintenance tasks ie plumbing, identifying leaks, minor joinery tasks, fixing door handles,
IOSH Certificate would be desirable.
Certification of Legionella Legislation awareness
IT Literate, MS Office/competent in the use of Excel, Power point/Smartphones/Helpdesk
Experience in a similar role would be preferable although training will be given where appropriate.
