**About the role**

In addition to support services, GDASS also operate a helpline and manage the Places of Safety properties.

You will be working as part of a first response team identifying the level of risk to callers, providing immediate advice or referring to the appropriate part of the service, liaising with other agencies and signposting.

You will be working within the Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse Support Service, who provide support to victims of abuse in Gloucestershire. The First Response Team (Helpdesk) are the first point of contact for customers and agencies referring into the service. The post holder will offer support, advice, advocacy and assistance to a diverse range of callers on a daily basis.

**Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require a DBS check to be completed. Further details will be sent following offer.**

**About you**

You will need to have at least 5 GCSEs at Grade C or vocabulary, verbal reasoning and numerical skills to the equivalent ability level.

You must have excellent knowledge of domestic abuse legislation.

You must have a good awareness of the diverse needs of customers.

You must have experience of managing complex, sensitive customer queries, remaining calm when dealing with emotional, difficult or distressed people.

You must have experience of DASH completion. Ability to deal with a demanding workload and to prioritise effectively whilst maintaining attention to detail.

You need to have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the need to follow policy and procedures.
