**About the Operations Manager role: **

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, customer focused and performance driven Registration Service Operations Manager and Superintendent to be responsible for delivering a high quality, cost effective and consistent service, driving out inefficiencies and implementing change. Leading and managing a large team to deliver highly effective processes, maintaining flexibility and resilience to meet seasonal demand. The role will influence culture change, encourage development of efficient working practices, have responsibility for sustaining £3.5million of income and leading, developing and creating the commercial opportunities for further income generation.

We are looking for someone that has proven experience in managing a large operation and that has strong leadership, communication and people skills. Previous experience of working in a Registration Service setting is desirable, but not essential. The role will require to have commercial acumen, excellent engagement skills and the ability to develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders which will maximise the services effectiveness and support wider system improvements.

**Responsibilities as our Operations Manager**:

- Accountable for the delivery of ECC registration services by the central registration team. Advise and support management to enable them to deliver effective and customer focused registration, nationality, and celebratory services. Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of effective technology systems, business models and processes across the service function. Responsible for defining, implementing, and reviewing the annual service surge plan and implementing strategies to deploy resources effectively to meet seasonal demand, including the development of service level agreements. Responsible for the operational management of the service, jointly leading and managing teams. Use specialist skills, knowledge and experience to ensure that the Registration Service delivers all statutory responsibilities and service compliance. Responsible for analysing data, including customer feedback, to make informed decisions about service developments, measure team and individual performance against targets to ensure quality, productivity, and value for money. Responsible for leading and managing continuous improvement projects for the Registration Service and contributing to wider Customer Services projects.
**What we're looking for in our Operations Manager**:

- Educated to RQF level 5 (Foundation degree level) or equivalent with at least 2 years operational management experience of large teams- Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in relevant professional area. Proven experience and in-depth understanding of managing a large operational area. Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with experience of working successfully with challenging and demanding customers. Proven experience of leading a large operational team. Demonstrates a passion for delivering excellent customer service and experience. Strong knowledge and understanding of business planning and performance management with proven ability to problem-solve complex and challenging issues. Ability to withstand significant and unanticipated pressure.
