**About the role**:
We are seeking Research Assistant to join our interdisciplinary team based at the School of Engineering and Department of Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Leicester. The post is a full time role funded by BHF Accelerator ECR Interdisciplinary Fellowship fund.
At Leicester, we have translated preclinical understanding of electrical restitution in ventricular arrhythmogenesis, into the development of LifeMap, a more accurate risk assessment for sudden cardiac death (SCD) and ventricular arrhythmia (VA). The post will be central to developing novel signal processing and machine learning methods with the goal of enhancing the effectiveness of our LifeMap technology, with the aims to develop VR-induced stress tests, potentially offering clearer data and benefiting patients with mobility issues.
This role is part of a collaboration with senior colleagues in the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences and School of Engineering at the University of Leicester and the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
**About you**: With a Ph.D. or equivalent in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field, we are looking for someone with experience in developing machine learning algorithms. This should include proven experience of working within a highly interdisciplinary team, with a good publication record. You should be able to demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, machine learning, and AI methodologies, especially as applied to biomedical data.
