An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Practitioner to join the multidisciplinary team providing care under supervision to our service users in HMP Norwich Mental Health/IAPT service for men.

NSFT Secure Mental Health Services have been consistently rated "Good" by the CQC and we are looking for an Assistant Practitioner who will join us on our journey to "Outstanding".

You will provide mental health support under the supervision of a registered practitioner, working both independently and with other team members following the overall framework of the teams policies and procedures.

You will assist in the formulation and delivery of patient care, managing a small caseload of primary patients, liaising with the MDT team to ensure our service users receive the optimum mental health support during an often particularly difficult time in their lives.

Liaising with partner agencies such as drug and alcohol services, resettlement services, general nursing and GP services and the prison services is an important part of the role to ensure that the holistic needs of our service users are considered and met

Our integrated mental health and justice pathway services form part of a wide and growing body of clinical services operating in a variety of settings across the secure and forensic services care group.

NSFT Secure Services offer low and medium secure mental health services for men, an innovative integrated secure mental health service for women, mental health and personality disorder services in the local prisons, community forensic services, criminal justice liaison and diversion services and Offender Personality Disorder services in partnership with probation services.

As a part of the wider NSFT Secure Services Psychology Team, the post-holder will receive regular clinical and management supervision, and also professional and governance support from within the team.

Within NSFT Secure Services we employ a diverse and supportive team of psychologists, including clinical, counselling and forensic psychologists, and we are able offer our team members the opportunity to continue to develop their expertise via training and development opportunities in different parts of our service.
