Your role at a glance
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Conduct Risk Consultant to join our team on a secondment basis until the end of the year.

In this role, you will provide independent conduct risk advice and guidance to the business and deliver effective 2nd line challenge to their approach to managing their risks, to ensure that the conduct risk framework, policies and processes are embedded within the organisation.

What you'll be doing
- Providing conduct risk advice, guidance, challenge and training to the business on Conduct Risk Policies and regulatory requirements to ensure they are fully understood and taken into account when developing customer outcomes and operating within agreed conduct risk appetite.
- Supporting the analysis of proposed regulatory changes and provide advice, guidance and education to the business on the impacts of these proposals, providing input to consultations and implementation activity so that relevant conduct risks are identified and managed effectively.
- Supporting the Conduct Risk team with regular or ad-hoc activities when required. This may include focused monitoring activity, issue management oversight and the creation of reports on performance of the business against regulatory and customer risks. You will also be required to create and deliver training on regulated activities.
- Supporting the proactive identification of all material conduct risks for the business, investigating these to understand their impact and ensuring effective risk management is in place to mitigate any adverse impacts, providing a reliable, up to date view of all risks
- Owning and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of conduct risk developments, and participate in knowledge sharing across the Conduct team, so that the business receives a professional and credible service on the conduct risk framework.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of good working relationships with other Group second line functions, including the Group Conduct Risk team, Chief Risk Officers’ teams, Prudential Risk teams and Group Risk team to enable effective communications on matters of mutual interest and effective reporting on business risks and issues.
- Deputising for Conduct Risk Managers as directed and escalate significant issues as appropriate.
- Supporting and challenging the business’ approach to the FCA’s Consumer Duty through provision of advice, monitoring business processes and controls. Analysing business processes to understand whether customers achieve good outcomes and that this can be evidenced. You will be responsible for working with the business to ensure actions and activities are agreed, understood, and enacted to ensure adherence and compliance to business, regulatory and legislative policy, and standards.

What we're looking for
- Good awareness of Legal & General’s business model and strategy.
- Good awareness of the wider business and regulatory environment and ability to understand the potential impacts of market and regulatory changes on the Division.
- Good understanding of the principles of risk management, especially in relation to regulatory and customer focused risks.
- Initiative and capability to identify and investigate conduct risks through Data analysis for root cause and trends.
- Investigative mindset with ability to generate and manage own workloads through interactions with the business.
- Proficient at Microsoft Office Apps and SharePoint (build and maintenance)
- Good organizational skills essential
- Strong communication skills to support the delivery of MI packs, dashboards, reporting, policy training and compliance monitoring results to business leadership teams
- Strong ability to challenge and influence stakeholders
- Data analysis, MI and or/Business Analyst experience an advantage
