Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a **Head of Transport Compliance** to join our **Senior Management **team at our **Rugby** site.
As the Head of Transport Compliance, you will have responsibility to ensure that all the transport operations across Stobart’s comply fully with the relevant legislative requirements. You will keep abreast of legislative proposals and consultations ensuring Stobart are both represented and prepared for any changes.
This is a full time, permanent position Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm offering a competitive salary and package with the opportunity to work for a forward thinking market leader.
**Job responsibilities of Head of Transport Compliance include**:
- Develop our transport legal compliance polices and processes in line with our ISO9001 accreditation.
- Develop and deploy effective transport governance and review processes at all levels of our business.
- Oversee our central legal compliance system. Work with system users and other system partners to ensure we are always striving for excellence in its operation.
- Work in collaboration with our fleet providers and fleet maintenance providers to ensure alignment with our o licence commitments as well as legislative obligations.
- Oversee targeted improvement actions to address any shortfalls.
- Liaise with Traffic Commissioners, DVSA, the police and any other authority in relation to transport legal Compliance.
- Support and develop the Stobart transport operational teams in relation to legal compliance.
- Full ownership for preparing and managing the central transport legal compliance budget.
- Ensure financial probity and value for the Stobart pound is obtained through our compliance systems.
- Liaise with our central IT teams on the contracts for our Compliance systems.
- Accountable for the leadership and development of your teams including implementation and delivery of the people agenda.
- Overall responsibility for People KPI’s including attendance and attrition.
- Responsible for developing direct reports and teams, creating succession plans in order to grow talent from within and using tools provided to manage talent within the business.
- Supports and continually encourages personal development and actively promotes importance of development.
- Recognises underperformance and is able to coach and develop individuals to ensure performance improvement.
- Interface with the legal team to validate any formal correspondence to the authorities.
- Interface with the central training team to develop tailored compliance training.
- Collaborate with the Operations directors and General Managers to share best practice.
- Support the implementation of business operational strategy through the delivery of change projects.
- Seeks and regularly reviews the company strategy and objectives and ensures Transport Compliance function is aligned to Sector and individual objectives.
- Works collaboratively alongside the other Senior Managers to maximise business unit and company-wide results.
**Qualifications**
- TM National and international CPC
- Comprehensive knowledge of Transport Law.
- IT Literate including Microsoft word, excel and outlook.
- Proven experience of working within a Senior Management Transport role.
- Proven track record in Transport and Logistics Industry.
- Proven experience of leading and managing a team.
- Proven experience in improving Legal compliance in a large transport company.
- Ideally be a member of a professional chartered Transport body, EG CILT, SOE
- 5 + years experience in a similar position.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Demonstrable knowledge of multi-site Transport Operations, legislation and working best practices.
- Strategic awareness.
