**SPECIFICATION TECHNOLOGIST (Fixed Term 12 Months Covering Maternity)**

**Hours** - 40 hours per week Monday - Friday including 1 hour unpaid break

**Salary** - £26,000 per annum

**Purpose of Job**:
A key member of the Technical team covering the BAKO Group the role necessitates responsibility for the upkeep of all Technical Documentation and issuing these to customers when requested in a timely manner. The position allows for the incumbent to play an important technical role within the BAKO Select Team as well as the wider business.

**Main Duties**:

- To issue technical documentation covering products and suppliers, as requested by internal and external customers, in a timely manner with all requests being recorded and organised appropriately for future reference.
- Responsible for maintaining an up-to-date database of all specifications.
- Assisting suppliers as they complete BAKO Select specifications, via the BAKO’s web-based Qadex system, to ensure the information is comprehensive, legally compliant and includes relevant supporting documentation.
- Assisting in the compilation of comprehensive, legally compliant, BAKO Select customer version product specifications and data sheets.
- Working closely with suppliers to deliver and approve robust and effective Quality Attribute documents for each of the BAKO Select products.
- Organise/undertake testing of BAKO Select products in line with the testing schedule set, to ensure suppliers continuously deliver to the specification and packaging artwork agreed and to the quality attributes set.
- Supporting Qadex by maintaining the Supplier Approval system, where appropriate challenging suppliers, to ensure all information has been delivered to the standard expected.
- Advise and liaise with Marketing for pack copy information regarding legal, nutrition and labelling matters for the creation of artwork for BAKO Select products.
- Assisting with customer complaints that require investigation with a technical input.
- Ensuring new or revised specifications from suppliers are effectively communicated internally and throughout the customer base.
- Working cross-functionally with other teams, together with suppliers, in providing technical support for the timely delivery of new or existing product development projects from early inception to product launches.
