**About Bath Mind**

Bath Mind was established in 1998 by a group of local people with lived experience of mental ill health who wanted to provide information and activities for people in the community. Since then we have worked hard to develop what we do in response to local needs.

Many of our current staff have lived experience of facing mental health challenges; we have a greater understanding of the community that we support.

We are in contact with thousands of people annually to improve and maintain mental health and wellbeing.

While we are affiliated to national Mind, we receive no direct funding from them. We are a self - sustaining, independent locally run charity.

**Overall Responsibilities**
- To facilitate and support Bath Mind’s lived experience and coproduction programme.
- To encourage and engage people who are using Bath Mind services to participate and enhance coproduction, enabling opportunities for people to be involved in a way that they feel comfortable and listened to.
- To ensure people with lived experience are heard and that their expertise directly influences decisions made at all levels of the organisation.
- To liaise effectively with senior leadership, managers, and key team members of staff to assist the development of the lived experience and coproduction programme.

**Communication Responsibilities**
- To adopt a team approach and be a proactive team member
- To be non-judgemental and empathetic
- To adhere to the policy of confidentiality and sharing of information
- To be non-discriminatory
- To promote positive perceptions of Bath Mind at all times
- To liaise with users of Bath Mind services
- To maintain positive working relationships with other employees and volunteers of Bath Mind
- To attend supervision, appraisal and team meetings
- To attend training and relevant courses for professional development

**Specific Responsibilities**
- To utilise own lived experience to role model and communicate with understanding and hopefulness, ensuring the voice of people using Bath Mind services is heard and results in meaningful change.
- To support services and activities with enhanced evaluations, case studies and feedback.
- To work on identified projects, implementing plans in close collaboration with individuals with lived experience, colleagues, and external agencies.
- To closely work with community-based projects supporting engagement in focused activities.
- To attend meetings as required, both internally and with external agencies and pathways.
- To support and connect with Bath Mind’s member’s panel.
- To provide regular communications and feedback to the senior leadership team, service managers, staff team and volunteers.
- To maintain appropriate information and recording systems relating to the lived experience role.
- To ensure that agreed standards, targets and outcomes for the lived experience role are achieved in line with the organisations aims and objectives.
- To produce lived experience articles, evaluations, and case studies.
- To promote the lived experience programme on social media and local press with the Bath Mind business development team.
- To work collaboratively with the volunteer coordinator.
- To comply with Bath Mind’s policies and procedures.
- To perform any other tasks which are reasonable requests that may be made by your line manager.
