An opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Lead Medical Secretary, on a permanent basis. Please note this is a part-time role for 18.75 hours and the salary for this will be pro-rata.

The Lead Medical Secretary will be required to supervise an administrative team of secretaries and administrative clerks and to provide a comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently. Ensure the work of the administrative team is carried out in accordance with NHS Lanarkshire’s standard operating procedures. We are seeking a dedicated hard working individual who has a SVQ level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) plus experience as a medical secretary with a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
- Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change.
- Evidence of good communication skills with patients, clinicians and colleagues.
- Advanced audio typing skills.
- Evidence of strong competence with relevant IT systems.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Proven ability to work under pressure.
