**An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent, Specialist Complex nutritional care Dietitian in University Hospital Wishaw, NHS Lanarkshire.**

**The Role**:
The NHS Lanarkshire Dietetic Service has a clinical remit for people of all ages across a diverse population, with areas of both high deprivation and affluence. Community and hospital-based dietetic teams work closely together to provide care to patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. We are a dynamic service that values a culture of helpfulness, supports staff development and progression and has a focus on improving clinical pathways using data and digital technology to provide high-quality care to our patients.

We are looking for a skilled, innovative dietitian with excellent service development and communication skills who will:

- Provide a clinical service to ACCU, SHDU and both medical and surgical complex nutritional support inpatients within University Hospital Wishaw.Adult complex nutritional care of medical and surgical patients in AACU, HDU and on the wards.
- Enteral Feeding and nutritionally supporting patients in hospital and post-hospital discharge with ongoing community care.
- An active member of the in-hospital multidisciplinary nutritional support team.
- Education and mentoring of students and junior staff members.
- Be a source of professional dietetic advice in complex nutritional care patients.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement and other project management initiatives Be an active participant in student training.

**What we'll need you to bring**:

- Registered Dietitian with valid HCPC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Postgraduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.
- Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within the speciality/area of practice.
- Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery.
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in the area of speciality including study days/courses/post-graduate qualification
- The post holder will possess excellent teamwork/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using their own initiative
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
- A driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

**It would be great if you also have**:

- Member of PENG/Attendance at PENG course or willingness to do so.
- Attendance of causes pertaining to dietetic and complex nutritional support and Adult Critical Care
- Experience of working with Specialist Acute medical and surgical patients in an ACCU, SHDU, inpatient and outpatient setting.
- Experience working with an MDT

**Contract type**:

- Permanent
- Part-Time
- 30 Hours
- Please note this is a part-time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

**Location and Working Pattern**:
This role will be based in the Dietetics Department within the University Hospital Wishaw.
