The Caversham Group Practice is a very busy GP Practice in Kentish Town looking after the health needs of almost 17,000.00 Patients.

We are looking for new team members to join our front of house/ reception team on either a part time or full time basis.

We have two vacancies currently in the team one is a part time role and one is full time. Both require a Monday to Friday working pattern between the hours of 08:00 -18:30.

Thursday 10:30 - 18:30 (1 hour unpaid lunch)

Friday 10:30 - 18:30 (1 hour unpaid lunch)

Your primary role will be to work as a GP practice receptionist running a busy reception desk and telephone switch board as well as processing new registrations and prescriptions on a daily basis.

Once you mastered the fundamentals of the role your tasks will expand to include administrative activities such as preparing medical reports, managing patient referrals and "call and recall" - contact patients and encourage them to attend the practice for health checks, organise annual reviews of their chronic illness and accept other health care promotions such as seasonal vaccinations.

You will be trained to look at the patient as a whole person and plan appointments to maximise the benefit to the patient and to be as efficient as possible with regards to the practice resources to provide excellent patient centred care while also achieving NHS targets outcomes.

As a team you will be working towards national and local targets measured by KPIs as well as a wide range of administrative tasks.

**Salary**: £11.49 per hour while in probationary period (6 months unless probation extended), there after pay rises to £12.54 upon successful completion of probation.

**Before you apply, please ensure you**:

- Are happy to work in a Health Care setting where patients are being seen face to face and you will be their first contact with the practice.
- You are available to work Monday - Friday on site at the practice. This is not a hybrid or work from home role.

You can work specific shift pattern we operate as specified above.
- Can work occasional Saturdays with notice provided if required by the practice. (Approximately 2 or 3 a year)
- Can attend a face-to-face interview at the practice if invited to do so.

**Job summary**:
The purpose of the role is to:

- Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
- Facilitate effective communication between patients, members the primary health care team, secondary care, and other associated healthcare agencies.

**Duties and responsibilities**:
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice reception and administration team “Practice assistants” may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the practice manager/ operations managers, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels.
