**The role**

Our vacancy is for a part-time **Finance Assistant**, who will help look after the finances of the UK and German operations to ensure smooth running of both businesses.

You will perform a range of functions from processing daily transactions to preparing management accounts and payroll inputs on a monthly basis.

Reporting to the Finance Manager your responsibilities will be to:

- Download daily bank transactions and allocate to sales and purchase transactions as appropriate.
- Reconcile bank balances at least weekly and at month end.
- Post direct consumer sales orders and invoices and reconcile to funds received.
- Prepare sales summaries and create invoices to send to our marketplace partners.
- Post purchase invoices to the purchase ledger ensuring each is correctly approved.
- Post credit card transactions.
- Process employee expenses.
- Produce debtors reports on a weekly basis, and take a proactive role in managing and collecting debt.
- Prepare payroll inputs for hourly and salaried staff.
- Assist with the posting of stock invoices to the purchase ledger.
- Assist with the posting of month end journals and balance sheet account reconciliation.
- Be prepared to undertake ad hoc numerical tasks relating to any area of the business.
- Be numerate, comfortable working with numbers, familiar with financial systems, and with a meticulous attention to detail and enthusiasm for data accuracy. Previous experience as a bookkeeper, accounts or payroll assistant would be preferable, as would a qualification such as AAT Level 3.
- Be positive and hard-working, prepared to get stuck in and get things done, and able to work independently and as part of a team; a natural problem-solver who, when faced with an issue, has clear and practised methods to overcome it.
- Have good organisational and time management skills, using your proactive attitude to complete work in an accurate and timely manner, while managing and prioritising activities in order to achieve this.
- Be calm and responsive, able to deal flexibly with peaks and troughs in workload or unexpected requests and able to re-prioritise workload accordingly.
- Be a strong communicator both verbally and in your written communications.
- Enjoy building good relationships with your colleagues. Everyone sees you as a great team player.

This is a part-time role working 25 hours per week. Salary will be £23,000-25,000 full time (40 hours) equivalent depending on experience.
