Senior Wellbeing Advisor
**Hours**: Full time, part time, and compressed hours available, with the option of remote working one day a week.
**About us**:
MI5 safeguards the UK against threats such as terrorism, espionage, cyber and sabotage. We investigate suspect individuals and organisations in the UK to obtain, collate, analyse and assess secret intelligence relating to these threats. Alongside our British Intelligence partners MI6 and GCHQ, we provide the UK government with the information they need to protect national security.
**The role**:
As our Senior Wellbeing Advisor, you’ll work on behalf of the UK’s Intelligence Services to support and promote staff wellbeing. Acting alongside a multi-disciplinary team comprised of outreach delivery teams, clinical psychologists, wellbeing practitioners, counsellors, occupational health nurses and workplace adjustment advisors, you’ll ensure this topic remains a key priority within the intelligence community.
Whether you’re supporting colleagues in medium and high-risk roles or overseeing wellbeing projects, you’ll share your insights and experience across a variety of tasks. You’ll also shape the delivery of training and psychoeducation initiatives by feeding external best practice into our service development. Plus, you’ll carry out stakeholder engagement across people services and mission areas.
**About you**:
Empathetic, calm under pressure with good people skills - that’s you. You’ll have a background of working in mental health or wellbeing environment, and/or experience delivering one-to-one and group interventions. This could’ve been in the public or private sector; your knowledge will include working with adults and delivering support services in different formats including guided self-help, face-to-face and online.
Mental Health First Aid or Mental Health Awareness training is essential in this role. You’ll be expected to lead the team and deal with higher complexity cases. So, you’ll know how to manage risk, and have either existing management experience, or be looking to take the step up. You’ll enjoy working with autonomy and be comfortable manging your time and prioritising tasks. Most importantly, you’ll have a genuine interest in people and seek to inspire and empower those around you.
**Training and development**:
You won’t be expected to take on all your responsibilities immediately. Instead, you’ll be given an incremental approach to the full role, supported with internal training. Upon joining, you’ll also be given an induction to the organisation and your team to help you settle quickly.
**Rewards and Benefits**:
- You’ll receive a starting salary of £38,647 plus other benefits including:
- 25 Days Annual Leave automatically rising to 30 days after 5 years' service, and an additional 10.5 days public and privilege holidays
- Opportunities to be recognised through our employee performance scheme
- Personal Learning Budget
- Interest-free season ticket loan
- Excellent pension scheme
- Cycle to work scheme
- Facilities such as a gym, restaurant and on-site coffee bars (at some locations)
- Paid parental and adoption leave.
**Equal Opportunities**:
**We’re Disability Confident**
- Application form -You will be asked a series of questions relating to this vacancy and are required to meet the minimum pass mark set.
