An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to complement our Basildon Hospital site based Employee Relations Team. We are looking to appoint a Senior Employee Relations Advisor on a permanent basis. The post will be for 37.5 hours per week and will be working with the Employee Relations Manager and Advisors.

Successful applicants will be expected to manage a varied complex caseload including; sickness absence, disciplinary, grievances, workforce investigations, appeals and MHPS cases. They will also support Line Managers at various stages throughout the employee relations process, including at formal case hearings.

As well as Case management, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to influence policy and procedures as we continue to improve and evolve our service. The role will provide a perfect opportunity for career growth in employee relations.

The posts holder will be based at Basildon Hospital, however may be required to travel to and work at any of the MSE foundation Trust sites.

The post holder will provide high quality operational ER support across the three Acute Hospitals within the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The role will also assist ER site teams to manage and deliver an effective ER service across Care Groups.

The role will involve operating at a senior level providing employee relations case work and operational support to services across the employee relations life cycle. The role will also support with policy review and training, reporting and data requirements.

A key part of the role will be supporting the Employee Relations Service in the design and deployment of ER interventions to enable the Trust meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for formal Employee Relation cases.
The post-holder may be aligned to a site or care group but will be expected to work across any site and travel to any one of the three sites as required including to cover for team absence. The post-holder will lead on the implications of changes in employment law and HR practice to ensure robust and effective working practices are communicated across the Trust.
The role will include supporting managers with case work in a range of complex employment matters including disciplinary, grievance and bullying and harassment, cases in formal procedure. This will cover a full range of staff groups including both medical and non-medical staff.
