**The Role Responsibilities**

The Venture Commercial Lead will have primary responsibility for growing a new Venture with a differentiated product offering or business model within the SC Ventures ecosystem. Your job is a mixture of handling strategic challenges and dealing with hands-on tasks. You need to consider the bigger picture and be responsible for establishing the core team and the resources that are needed to succeed in developing a business ready for market.

As the venture expands, you will pivot from performing multifaceted duties into more of a leadership role. Your primary goal is to convey the vision and facilitate the venture’s progress by defining the overall strategy from launch to independence and beyond.

You will work closely with the SCV Leadership Team, Venture Board, SCV Function Teams and wider bank COEs to execute and consult as required.

**Responsibilities**

**Strategy**
- Execute on the Venture strategy, taking the Venture onto a journey towards finding and creation of a new entity
- Being an ambassador for the Venture and the Group with key stakeholders and at relevant forums continuously exploring & building strategic partnerships to drive growth and promote financial inclusion for the Venture
- Develop and implement an effective business organisational plan that supports operational resilience and the delivery of strategic priorities focused on innovation, customer orientation, agility, people & culture
- Foster a culture of compliance and good conduct to establish the Venture as a model of strong governance amongst peers
- Taking the lead in aligning with the regulatory agenda, starting with regulatory compliance, but developing into a healthy relationship with regulators toward a common progressive agenda.
- Create a business model that is effective in executing the Venture’s objectives

**Business**
- Establish an effective and scalable operational set up, resourced for a growing Venture’s requirements, and governed strongly to ensure business continuity, seamless change, and customer resilience.
- Deliver business, customer acquisition and revenue growth targets by investing in business development resources and tools, marketing, publicity and fit for purpose product and technology.
- Leading the Venture in continuous enhancement and improvement of the Venture’s product offering as per agreed plan, overseeing & ensuring technology and product management resource capabilities are met to support the plan.
- Create the marketing strategy to enable business and customer acquisition, establishment and enhancement of the Venture’s brand value, and continued growth in active customers

**Processes**
- Establish and/or chair management committees as required by the Venture’s operating model.
- Implement business and governance review cadences as appropriate.
- Closely work with the Finance to maintain oversight on financial performance, liquidity requirements, budgets, funding, and investments.
- Review reporting obligations to both the regulator(s) and the shareholder(s); and assure accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage engagement with external stakeholders at the necessary regularity.
- Represent the Venture on fund raising activities such as Brain Trust, etc.

**People & Talent**
- Develop the Venture as employer of choice, where talented and purpose driven individuals aspire to work in;
- Manage performance, wellbeing, and engagement by creating a culture of achievement and satisfaction, ensuring a high level of performance and continuous coaching feedback
- Develop a strong organisational mindset ensuring this is well embedded into the Venture’s policies and operations
- Ensure all Team Members have the skills and experience to perform individual roles or have a development plan in place to achieve set objectives.
- Role model the Venture values and behaviours, consistently promoting and reinforcing them.
- Provide a safe working environment for all employees and all OH&S issues are proactively managed.

**Risk Management**
- Develop and maintain organisational awareness of operational risk management
- Ensure that the relevant staff understand and accept their responsibilities in relation to risks, governance and controls.
- Oversee identification, assessment, management, monitoring, mitigation and reporting of compliance (including regulatory, conduct and financial crime) risks.
- Oversee the formulation of compliance policies and standards for approval by the relevant governing body (as necessary) under the Venture’s governance framework.
- Oversee the development of controls for the Venture for all risk types as set out in the relevant Risk Management Frameworks.
