Swansea Bay University Health are seeking to recruit registered immunisers. We are looking for enthusiastic, proactive and motivated individuals with great communication and interpersonal skills to join our immunisation team. You will need to have the ability to multitask, organise your own workload whilst remaining calm under pressure and enjoy a challenge. You will have a caring and compassionate personality and want to make a positive difference.

You will work in a variety of different settings and will have the necessary skills and knowledge to have discussions with individuals and families on all matters regarding immunisations. You will work in a variety of different setting, such as clinic settings, Immbulance, domiciliary immunisations, and secondary care for example.

You will need a back ground in immunisation work, awareness of the routine immunisation schedule and be able to work with the immunisation nurse facilitator and immunisation coordinators to answer complex immunisation queries.

As a team we will proactively improve immunisation uptake rates with our primary care colleagues, reduce the inequalities that currently exist in our uptake rates and react to any outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases.

Safe administration of vaccines by various routes, including intra-dermal techniques

Work in collaboration with health care professionals from primary, and secondary care in addition to close working relationships with the third sector and trusted voices within our communities.

Proactively support the administration of vaccines in line with the implementation of the National Immunisation Framework

A high level of communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work as part of a team. Successful applicants will have responsibility for their allocated vaccination clinics which will be in various settings; ensuring standards are met at all times and will be required to be able to deal with pressure with a positive attitude and possess a professional and flexible approach to their work.

Working hours may include the need to work at weekends/evenings to meet the needs of the service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

As a Registered Health Care Professional working in immunisations, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for all vaccination programmes The post holder will undertake activities such as: clinical assessment, dilution and drawing up of the vaccine from multi dose vials and post vaccine observations support.

**The post holder will be responsible for**:
The various vaccination settings.
Conducting clinical assessments.
The review of complex medical histories and potential adverse reactions.
Preparation of the vaccine prior to administration by the Immunisers.

**DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Job Purpose
Deliver vaccinations to all eligible clients and assist with the overall
coordination of the site activity and day to day delivery of the
vaccination programme which at times will involve working over a 7 day
period to meet the needs of the service
Ensure vaccination settings and equipment are available at the start of each
session.
Conduct pre-vaccination clinical assessments to confirm the correct
vaccination, obtain consent agreement and provide advice on any
contra indications and ensure that the client receives post
vaccination advice.
Address any concerns that may arise regarding the vaccine and contraindications with clients.
Review medical histories and address any potential adverse
reaction risks; provide clients with information on what to do in
the event of adverse reactions

**Assist with the configuration of the vaccination station**:
a) Confirmation and recording of clinic setup (in terms of layout and
equipment)
b) Confirmation and recording of required vaccine stocks, PPE and vaccine
consumables
c) Confirmation of availability for sanitisation materials and waste/clinical
waste receptacles
