We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a school in the PR1 area in the heart of Preston. This full-time position is specifically designed to support the Year 2 classroom, providing assistance to both the teacher and students. The position is full time, Monday to Friday 8.45 to 3.15 and we are looking for someone with recent classroom based experience.

**Responsibilities**:

- Classroom Support:

- Assist the Year 2 teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Support individual students or small groups during class activities.
- Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Student Engagement:

- Foster a love for learning among Year 2 students.
- Implement strategies to support student participation and understanding.
- Provide additional support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Resource Preparation:

- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Ensure a well-organized and conducive learning environment.
- Help set up and maintain displays of students' work.
- Behavioral Support:

- Promote positive behaviour and reinforce classroom expectations.
- Address any behavioural issues in collaboration with the teacher.
- Support the implementation of the school's behaviour management policies.
- Communication:

- Maintain open and effective communication with the Year 2 teacher.
- Provide regular updates on student progress and any concerns.
- Collaborate with other staff members and parents as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working in a school setting or with children is desirable.
- A relevant qualification in education or child development is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a passion for supporting children's learning.
- Knowledge of Year 2 curriculum and teaching methods.
