Front of House Assistant/ Supervisor

- **Front of House Supervisor position **_This person is responsible for overseeing and being wholly involved in the daily operations of the front of house/reception area comprising of aquarium admissions, cafe, & shop.
The chief responsibilities and objectives will involve pre-planning of staffing, supplies and overseeing all aspects of the area to ensure an inviting environment for visitors, provide smooth operations and ensure an enjoyable and fulfilling visitor experience. This key leadership role requires excellent communication and motivational skills with both staff and customers. organisation and dynamism - able to multi - task and problem solve calmly in a fast - paced environment. Attention to detail.
- **Supervisor duties include **_
Outside; preparing the area, setting up appropriate cafe furniture and equipment to ensure as inviting an area for visitors as possible according to the weather conditions. Inside; Preparing the café for the day’s demands including overseeing the coffee machine. Maintaining presentation of shop and general environment again to provide and maintain as inviting and fulfilling visitor environment as possible. Engaging with other staff members, offering direction and ongoing support. Once open; meeting and greeting guests, answering phone enquiries. Mucking in; getting involved in all areas whilst maintaining good communications and displaying leadership skills with colleagues. Overseeing smooth operations whilst planning ahead with stock and general display. Ordering of supplies and carrying out a thorough close down and cleaning in preparation for the following day.
- **General Requirements include **_To set a good example to the staff in all areas. Being prepared to set and maintain the highest of standards of care and attention to detail.
To be willing to work hard and prioritise work direction according to customer demand, whether it be in the café, shop or admission area.
To supervise other front of house staff, ensuring the development of exceptional customer service at all times.
Communicate with other areas or personnel to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
To report to the manager of the aquarium, working closely with them to ensure all management and customer needs are met..
- **Front of House Assistants **_These persons are responsible for supporting the supervisor/manager in carrying out the above responsibilities effectively and achieving the key objectives. They will be wholly involved in the daily operations of all areas within the front of house/reception area.
- **Duties include **_Overall; being respectful and willing to follow instructions and guidance of management and duty supervisor. Inside; preparing food and café infrastructure including coffee machine. Once open; meeting and greeting guests, answering phone enquiries. Mucking in - getting involved in all areas where required whilst maintaining good communications with staff colleagues. Assisting in smooth operations whilst planning ahead with stock and general display. Carrying out a thorough close down and cleaning in preparation for the following day.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate, inspire and support a team. Exceptional customer service skills in order to maintain positive visitor experiences. To have had previous cafe experience and barista skills would be preferable.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally
Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with energy and enthusiasm.
