An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 0.4 WTE permanent position as a Band 8b Clinical Psychologist with an interest in working in the Midlands MESH service (a collaborative team of clinicians from both NUH and University Hospitals Leicester). This service is for women with complications of MESH inserted for urinary incontinence and vaginal prolapse (16 years and above). This post will provide a clinical psychology service to the Reproductive Health Service mainly based at NUH City campus. This is a new post and will involve developing and delivering a clinical psychology service to supplement and support the Midlands MESH service. The successful applicant will also be encouraged to link with other psychologists working in other MESH centres nationally to help develop services to deliver a unified approach within the UK. Once the MESH service ends the post holder will be redeployed within the Reproductive Health Service to meet service needs at that time.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist with an interest in Clinical Health Psychology who can work show autonomy and resilience. Clinical supervision will be provided by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
It is essential that the post-holder will have a doctorate level clinical psychology professional qualification and be HCPC registered
Working for our organisation
The post holder will be employed by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and will be based predominantly at the City Hospital Campus but may be required to work at both City and QMC Campus. Applicants must have the personal qualities and resilience to be able to work in a busy acute trust setting.
The successful applicant will join the Clinical Psychology Adult Medical Outpatient Service which is part of the Department of Clinical Psychology & Neuropsychology within the trust. Currently there are over 30 clinical psychologists working in the department. These provide input into a number of medical inpatient and outpatient services within the Trust including: Adult Medical Outpatient Service, Adult Neurology Services including Neurorehabilitation, Stroke and Non-Pressure Hydrocephalus, generic child service, Burns (child and adult), Cystic Fibrosis (child and adult), Child Oncology, Child Neurology Services including children with acquired and traumatic brain injury, Cleft Lip and Palate (child and adult), Haematological Cancers, Major Trauma, Neonatal Intensive Care, Non Epileptic Attack Disorder, Renal (adult) and Sickle Cell (child and adult). We have excellent links with the University of Nottingham and the Trent Clinical Psychology Doctorate Course.
