Summary

The Governing Body of Wellfield Methodist & Anglican Church School are seeking to appoint a Level 2a Teaching Assistant (31.25 hours per week) to start ASAP. We require someone who is highly motivated and flexible in their approach to their work, with a passion for working with children and their families to support the educational, personal and social development of pupils at our school. We believe in a therapeutic approach to education, where the nurture and wellbeing of our children is of maximum importance.
This position will initially be based in our KS2 Department where you will have an opportunity to develop a good understanding of the National Curriculum and its requirements. Therefore, substantive experience or a good understanding of strategies for working within a KS2 setting would be an advantage. There will also be a requirement to work with children on a 1:1 basis for part of the week, therefore experience of working alongside children with special educational needs would be desirable.

Essential Qualifications
- NVQ level 2 or above qualification -appropriate to the post (or equivalent)
- GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and Mathematics
Recent participation in relevant educational trainingEssential Experience
- Experience/knowledge of working with children with SEND.
- Experience of working in a primary school/service setting.
