**School Welfare Officer**

Are you passionate about changing the life chances of young people?

Do you want to work in one of Southampton’s fastest improving schools?

Then St Mary’s CE Primary is the school for you

As part of the next stage in it’s exciting journey St Mary’s Primary are looking to recruit a Welfare Officer who will put children at the heart of everything they do as well as supporting the office team in their day-to-day tasks

Previous experience in a medical environment is an advantage, but not essential, as we are happy to appoint and train a highly motivated, organised, and innovative individual with the relevant first aid skills. You will bring passion, experience and confidence and play a key role in the school’s continuing journey.

Working closely with the School Office Manager, you will manage the daily care of students who are unwell or have an underlying medical condition and liaise with parents on a regular basis. Administration of first aid will be required, including the use of prescribed medication and needles. The post holder will undertake regular audits and ensure medical records and medication are accurate, up to date and stored correctly. As a member of the office team will promote the highest standards of business ethos within the administrative function of the school and ensure the most effective use of resources, supporting where and when necessary. On occasions, you may be required to oversee and support another school within the city.

Information about our school:
We are a large (three-form-entry) primary school situated in the city centre of Southampton. We serve a diverse community with almost three-quarters of our pupils speaking English as an additional language.

Application information:
We warmly encourage you to visit our school to meet the children and staff. Please telephone the school to arrange a mutually convenient appointment.

Interviews will be held: 6/6/23
