SALARY: £25,000 per annum (+ Mileage)
**What we do**:
Wessmaps Housing Trust was established in 2014 to address the need of pure housing related support for vulnerable adults in supported living across Hampshire and the surrounding counties. Our staff have over 20 years’ experience in support, housing, and the public social care system. Ultimately, we are passionate about providing a truly ‘person centred plan’ to a wide variety of individuals with a range of complex needs. We aim to enable each individual with the support and independence they need to confidently access the community.
**What we are looking for**:
As a result of striving to achieve our mission, Wessmaps Housing Trust is looking to appoint a new position within our housing and welfare support team. The position includes but is not limited to, providing direct support to service users by assisting and enabling the development of social, personal, and domestic skills and offering tenancy and maintenance support as per our training. This position is field based across the Southampton area with regular returns to our head office, therefore, a full driving licence is imperative to succeed in this role.

- Ability and confidence to deliver firm direction, when necessary, that promotes positive change and choices.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Encourage and facilitate service user autonomy, personal choices, and independence.
- Implement skill training, behavioural management, and support services in line with support plans, reinforcing appropriate service user behaviour utilising direct feedback, prompts, role-play and modelling.
- Assist in the planning of recreational/social/vocational/ educational/ events and activities, escorting and supporting the service user as necessary during such activities.
- Act as an advocate where appropriate.
- Ensure effective and regular communication takes place between yourself and fellow staff members, and service-users' status is documented in accordance with Wessmaps Housing Trust procedures.
- Be responsible for ensuring that all fire prevention and health and safety practices are adhered to at all times and that only safe health practice is carried out in accordance with Wessmaps Housing Trust policies and procedures.
- Support our service users with benefit claims.
- To develop and maintain good, professional working relationships with other professionals, outside community agencies and non-service colleagues within Wessmaps Housing Trust.
- Attend training sessions and other meetings as requested.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions utilising forms approved by Wessmaps Housing Trust.
- To ensure a consistent approach in terms of support is afforded by other staff and outside agencies.
- To ensure confidentiality and GDPR regulations are maintained regarding service users’ and charity data.
- To ensure that individuals have the opportunity, and informed choice, to follow any religious or cultural beliefs with or without support.
- Be on call 1 week in 12 to answer emergency call-line over-night (if required)
