**About The Role**

Reporting to the Head of Finance for Performance and Central Functions, this role encompasses both the management and co-ordination of our regulatory reporting requirements and the oversight of our end-to-end investment processes and controls.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Prepare annual Regulatory Returns and associated external reporting matters on behalf of the businesses to the standard required by legislation, listing rules, licences and external regulatory bodies.
- Manage and co-ordinate regulatory reporting processes by setting accurate timetables, transparent assumptions, key performance metrics and guidance to ensure delivery to agreed timescales and customer requirements.
- To provide a means to translate company-wide financial information into the required format for regulatory reporting in a consistent and compliant way.
- Manage and develop a team of qualified and part qualified finance professionals.
- Leading the review and development of the investment sanctioning process to ensure appropriate control and governance is in place to accompany transformation of the Cadent operating model.
- Oversee end to end investment processes and controls and be the key point of contact for external audit testing relating to fixed assets.
- Managing the IT relationship with regards to BI refreshes and updates, ensuring that the system data is complete and available at key times throughout the year.
- Ensuring that the controls associated with the team’s processes are reviewed, updated, challenged and adhered to by the team.
- Act as a Centre of Excellence for defining, developing, implementing and maintaining processes using software tools, spreadsheets and reports to support decision-making and proactively seek opportunities to enhance operational efficiency through best practice.
- Support the delivery of change across Finance and the business, role-modelling new ways of working and owning delivery of key outcomes to drive the improvement of long-term business capability.
- Proactively build own knowledge of RIIO and its impact on the industry and the business in order to support key decisions and advise and guide own business area.

**About You**

**Qualifications**:

- Qualified accountant with a UK recognised body

Practical Experience
- Strong systems skills with experience of driving process efficiency through the use of SAP functionality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills and the ability to influence and explain financial issues and results to senior Leaders
- Strong financial & commercial acumen combined with significant post-qualification experience in financial management
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with senior business leaders
- Able to demonstrate initiative and sound judgement
- Experience of working with senior management across the business including technical and commercial professional staff and specialists
- Advanced at reporting Financial information
- Advanced at planning, forecasting and budgeting
- Experienced at developing and working with MS Excel
