We are looking for motivated and experienced individuals who have a passion for working with young people with learning disabilities to join our Ruby Lodge T eam as a Senior Health Care Support Worker. You will assist registered Nurses in meeting the identified needs of children, young people and families.
Ruby Lodge is a seven bedded inpatient assessment ward for children and young people aged 8-17 whom have a primary diagnosis of a learning disability who are also experiencing an associated mental health presentation.
Our team is multi-disciplinary and comprises of medics, nurses, health care support workers, psychologists, therapists, teachers, admin and support services who are committed to continued development and providing high quality care for young people and families. We offer assessment, collaborative care and provide recommendations for treatment to help young people with learning disabilities.
As a support worker within our team you will be involved in;
Comprehensive mental health assessment and treatment
Implementing care and treatment plans, including working with the young person’s family and carers
Supporting physical health assessment and appropriate treatment and advice - links to and support of The Children's Hospital, Sheffield
Implementing risk management plans.
Supporting the young people with all aspects of daily living.
Sheffield Children’s is one of three independent, specialist paediatric hospitals in the country, providing dedicated healthcare for children and young people across community, mental health and acute specialist settings.
