**Job description**

**Care First Recruitment Ltd are currently seeking to recruit a dedicated and experienced skilled 'Integrated Brokerage Support Officer’ to work for a Local Authority with offices based in London’s Zone 2.**

**Purpose of the role**:

- To assist with and support the purchase of care service for service users including domiciliary care, residential and nursing care, day care, transport, extra care, supported living and direct payments. Purchasing a range of social care services covering all adult and children’s client groups
- To act as a source of information for, advice and support for service users, carers, families and partners, to enable them to make the right choice of placement to support the individual’s needs and care requirements.
- To process and monitor all new and existing direct payments for all client groups, this includes checking that funds are being used appropriately.

**Key responsibility areas**:
1. To support care management in purchasing routine care packages from a range of providers using relevant social care databases and systems, to assist service users achieve their outcomes. This will include supported/extra care accommodation, transport and meals on wheels for all client groups under and over the age of 65

2. To manage daily referrals for care packages, placing them in a timely manner whilst adhering to best value and quality assurance principles

3. To investigate complaints regarding service provisions, within agreed procedures as required

4. To liaise with care managers, service users and providers to resolve queries and make amendments to care packages to reflect changes in care needs

5. To support the panel process by preparing panel documentation and attend panel to take notes and update client records with outcomes

6. To support care managers in ensuring that direct payments are setup and payments are made in a timely way to service users

7. Monitor the usage of direct payments to ensure that funds are being deployed appropriately to meet agreed outcomes within policies

8. To identify and report any irregularities in the use of funds to the appropriate manager

9. Provide information and advice about all aspects of receiving and managing a direct payment to pay for care and support

10. To process requests from the NRPF team for payment cards including one off request

11. To support the delivery of 7 days working by assisting with sourcing care packages in a timely manner to facilitate the timely discharge of patients from hospital

12. To resolve financial queries from providers and service users relating to service provisions, in a timely manner

13. To exercise sound knowledge of social service provision and relevant services provided by external organisations when responding to queries from service users, care managers and other professionals

14. To provide general office services such as scanning, arranging meetings, booking rooms, taking minutes, update action logs, post management, furniture, equipment, stationery and office supplies administration and assist with facilities management and site maintenance

15. To monitor the block care homes provision, updating mosaic with changes this include clients placed by CCG (100% health funded)

16. To create purchase orders for services commissioned, maintain purchasing records and associated records using IT systems including Mosaic and Oracle using the correct element to enable accurate budget monitor reporting

17. Process support plan sign off for increase/decrease in care packages, update client records and respective providers

18. To amend and close care packages as advised by care managers and service users

19. To update standard financial assessments on Mosaic and notify providers of the cost the client is assessed to pay

20. To send out service authorisations and notification of change documents relating to agreed changes to care packages. Send correspondence to service users to notify them of changes to cost of care packages

22. To log complaints received from service users and send to providers and ensure that responses are received in a timely manner. Update the RAG report from the complaints log

23. To organize, plan and prioritise work, attend supervision and cooperate with discussions relating to personal development and provide cover for in the absence of colleagues

24. To collate and provide information about local services, networks and activities, community resources and opportunities for clients and associated cost

**General duties**:

- To carry out duties of the post in accordance with the, Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Data Protections Act, the Computer Misuse Act, the Health and Safety at Work Act, and other relevant legislation, as well as Council policies, procedures, Standing orders and Financial Regulations
