**About the service**

Hillingdon Council have centralised the Brokerage and Direct payment model and function in order to develop and standardise practice across all teams. An integrated service enables the council to work in a more proactive way with partners across the market, ensuring there is a range of quality provision for service users to access.

About the role

We are recruiting several Brokerage Officers to join our new Integrated Team service.

As a Brokerage Officer you will provide a dedicated service to vulnerable children and young people purchasing effective care and education arrangements following an assessment.

You will work closely with providers, health partners and social care colleagues, monitoring the performance and quality of providers to ensure the highest standard of service is available to our customers.

You will manage a workload consisting of children requiring short notice and planned residential placements/support packages.

The role will require you to maintain detailed records and negotiate fees in conjunction with colleagues in other departments.

Liaising with managers & colleagues in procurement to identify gaps in the market and potential new providers.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need to have excellent communication skills, with the ability to build great working relationships and skilfully negotiate with providers and health partners.

You will also have good attention to detail and be able to effectively analyse and present information to aid negotiations. You will have a strong financial awareness and be able to identify new opportunities for both customers and the council.

You will be able to work with parents and carers and also have the ability to bring together various agencies to ensure the statutory duties as set out in the Childrens Act 2004 and Children And Adoption Act (2002) are implemented.
