**Primary Function**

Reporting to the Office manager you will be required to deal directly with work-based representatives, external enquiries and undertake all aspects of the administration function for the smooth running of the branch.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Assisting in the smooth running of day-to-day business
- Providing administrative assistance to the full-time Board Principal Officers, including taking minutes at meetings as and when required and where practical.
- Update the database, in accordance with members notifications and subscriptions for ‘new, amend and end’, ensuring GDPR compliance.
- Assist with the administration of the Group Insurance scheme for both serving and retired officers.
- Distribute information packs to all new recruits, transferees, and police staff. Review and follow up for returns.
- Arranging and booking travel and accommodation for full-time officials at the direction of the Office Manager
- Update and maintain the Branch website at the direction of the Office Manager
- In the Office Manager’s absence, deputising for the Office Manager when required.
- Housekeeping, hospitality, and reception duties in conjunction with the Office Manager.
- Any other relevant duties as directed by the Office Manager and/ or Branch Secretary

**NB Please note that these duties and responsibilities are not exhaustive and may be changed from time to time in line with the reasonable requirements of the Police Federation and as directed by the line manager, on behalf of the National Secretary.**

- Excellent organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- Good communication skills; written and verbal
- Ability to deal with issues as they arise
- Able to prioritise workload
- Ability to work both alone and as part of a team
- Understand the importance of and maintain confidentiality and integrity
- Customer Service experience
- Good knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Positive friendly manner

**Desirable that the postholder**:

- Worked within a member services organisation

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Permanent

**Salary**: £20,000.00 per year
