We are looking for an individual who will manage a team of four Band 4 Health Improvement Advisors and provide tailored health improvement advice to our inpatients.

In particular, you will act as a Smoke Free staff champion for the Trust, using timely, evidence-based practices to help patients stop their tobacco use both during their hospital stay and after discharge. You will engage with community-based smoking cessation services to ensure our patients can continue to receive support after they are discharged from hospital.

The team will engage with patients and offer them practical support to change their behaviour to achieve their own choices and goals.

This role requires an ability to manage time and resources effective to ensure the team are meeting Trust’s standards and targets.

The post holder will work with the Health Improvement Project Lead and manage a team of Health Improvement Advisors, working across adult in-patients wards, to provide individualised health improvement advice support to patients, such as those with a tobacco addiction.

This post will contribute to tackling inequalities in health through promoting and supporting people to stop smoking, as well as looking at other health improvement opportunities, such as for weight management and alcohol in-take. It focuses on engaging with patients and offering them practical support to change their behaviour to achieve their own choices and goals.

At Imperial College Healthcare you can achieve extraordinary things with extraordinary people, working with leading clinicians pushing boundaries in patient care. Become part of a vibrant team living our values - expert, kind, collaborative and aspirational. You’ll get an experience like no other and will fast forward your career.
