**Job Purpose
- **Information Governance Officer**

The Information Governance Officer will support the Director of Corporate Development to:
Manage Get Set UK’s Information Governance Framework,

Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy legislation,

Keep Get Set UK’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) up-to-date and consistent with the ISO/IEC 27001 standard.

Raise awareness of, and provide training on, information governance and security across the company.

**Key Responsibilities-**Information Governance Officer**

Support the Director of Corporate Development in the creation and communication of new policies and procedures relating to data protection and information security.

Support the Director of Corporate Development and the Head of HR & Learning and Organisational Development in the delivery of data protection and information security training across the business.

Act as an information governance lead on key projects that require new uses of personal information, undertaking privacy impact assessments where necessary.

Support the Director of Corporate Development to undertake information security and data protection audits in accordance with the audit plan.

Provide direction to a network of business unit information security champions.

Review information security questionnaires returned by suppliers for adequacy.

Maintain internal information governance logs and registers, ensuring that they are up-to-date at all times.

Ensure that access rights to all internal and external systems are kept up-to-date, reflecting starters, leavers and movers within the organisation.

Act always within the company policies and procedures.

Comply with the Get Set security practice to ensure customer data is always dealt with in a confidential and secure way, and our obligations around this are maintained.

Carry out all duties safely and properly per the company’s Health & Safety Policy.

Create awareness amongst the stakeholders about our company's vision of equal opportunities and values.

**Key Skills Required-**Information Governance Officer**

Ability to identify, understand and clearly explain principles of data protection and information governance legislation.

Strong communication skills.

Accuracy and an eye for detail essential.

Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear accurate reports, statistics, and documentation.

Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and distil complex requirements into simple protocols.

Influencing and negotiation skills that promote understanding, commitment, and action.

Ability to analyse information and trends, draw conclusions and develop action plans.

Computer, data entry, and MS Office skills

Ability to seek out solutions to problems.

Strong time management, planning, and organisational skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

High level of initiative and motivation.

Sound knowledge of information governance legislation, having worked in an information governance background for three years or more.

Good IT skills, and experience of using Microsoft 365 (n particular SharePoint).

Records management experience

Team player and supportive of colleagues.

Resilient and solution-oriented

Openness to receiving constructive feedback and using it to improve their competence and capability.
