We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated team player with excellent attention to detail skills to join our friendly immunisation and midwifery team. You will be responsible in supporting the safe implementation and monitoring of pregnancy and BCG immunisations to babies in line with national agendas.

This will involve data and reports and the use of both clinical and non-clinical information systems. Your effective communication skills will be put to use in conversations with both service users and staff. There is also an element of general administrative and secretarial work within this post

A modern alongside 3 bed Birth Centre with birthing pools and 8 postnatal beds

9 bed consultant-led Labour Ward with a birthing pool

A dedicated Obstetric theatre with recovery

13 bed Maternity Higher Observation Ward

A dedicated triage, based on labour ward

A Bereavement Suite with garden

A Maternity Day Unit, an Outpatient Clinic and Midwifery-led Sonography services

17 bedded ward for inpatient antenatal and postnatal mothers and babies

6 bedded Transitional Care Ward to minimise separation of mothers and babies

Our Community Midwifery Services are Royal College of Midwives (RCM) Award Winners 2021 for Excellence in Care During a Global Pandemic

Accurate and methodical collation and data entry to databases or national systems, to evidence and ensure that all women have been offered pregnancy immunisations and eligible babies for BCG immunisations

The use of multiple clinical and non-clinical information systems and databases to extract, understand and co-ordinate patients’ pathways and care and to identify the eligible population.

Record, maintain, transmit and store information relating to the delivery of care services electronically.

Produce Excel based reports where required and submit to relevant bodies to demonstrate up take of services

Assist with a robust process to enable follow up of women who are eligible for Immunisation but have yet to attend

Assist the process of patient tracking including booking all necessary appointments, and booking interpreters if required, and following up chasing results.

Make appointments and send letters/text message reminders for those women who do not attend after their scans for pregnancy immunisations, including a link to immunisation information

To deal with enquiries on behalf of the clinical teams either by telephone, personal contact or correspondence, within agreed limits and take appropriate action, i.e. ensure appropriate documentation is available.

Assist with the effective management of patient pathways ensuring that all
necessary appointments, including booking outpatients, clinics, are arranged on time.

Liaise effectively at all levels with other departments, hospitals, GPs, clients, Child Health Record Department (CHRD) and other health care agencies when required, including notification of DNA’s to GP’s and weekly vaccination numbers to CHRD.

Ensure that all enquiries made, both by telephone and in person are dealt with in a friendly helpful and efficient manner and where necessary an appropriate referral is made. Maintaining a call record and response log

Alert their line manager when users of the service are adversely affected

To treat as confidential all information obtained in the course of your work.

Maintain a flexible approach to the post in order to rapidly assimilate changes in workload, patterns and requirements. This will include supporting the Failsafe Officer as required.
