Totnes, United Kingdom Evolving Forests Full time

**About us**

We are a dynamic, small and growing business based on the Dartington Estate, Devon. Our work focuses on making better connections between people, trees, woodlands, timber, and ecologies. The reality of this involves a lot of film making and other media production, and supporting the development of local supply-chains. Over time we have gathered a wonderfully eclectic team of specialists that include ecologists, film-makers, a built environment professional and foresters. We excel at what we do, but what we aren’t that good at is project management and the day-to-day business administration. As we’ve grown we’ve juggled the day to day administration and divided up project management between us. We now need someone to join the team and help us ease the flow of work and make sure we fulfil our clients needs.

**Who you are**

Someone organised and driven, comfortable being part of a small team, and up for being part of a growing business focussed on pushing boundaries. Someone who wants to challenge themselves and to challenge us when we need it. Someone keen to help us consistently improve our productivity and the quality of the work we are so passionate about. We are open to who you are. You may have administration experience and want to try some project management. You may be an experienced project manager looking for something local and part-time. You might just love trees, a challenge, and organising people. We are open to how you work. The post is part-time, averaging 2.5 days/ week and we expect some of that time each week to be in the office, but are happy for you to work from home if that suits. It may be that you do half a day every day or a couple of full days/week.

**Duties**:

- Monitoring progress of projects against agreed internal milestones.
- Day to day management such as payroll, annual leave, and invoicing.
- Scheduling claims for payments within projects and liaising with the team to make sure reports are sent out on time.
- Monitoring and reporting cash flow on a month by month basis.
- Developing project management and filing systems to work across the organisation.
- Updating and writing our internal policies such as H&S, equality, etc.

**Essential skills**:

- Team person, happy to contribute ideas.
- Effective at planning, monitoring and reviewing.
- Good interpersonal skills, confident enough to be able to tell us when we haven’t done something we were meant to.
- Numerically literate, able to understand, manage and produce spreadsheets.
- Computer literate and happy using word processing & spreadsheets.
- Happy working digitally and remotely; all of our work is held in the cloud.
- Some proven administration or project management experience.

**Desirable skills**:

- Ability to produce cash flows and understand accounts.
- Knowledge of Xero or other accountancy package.
- Experience of and passion for social media.
- Interest in developing skills whether that be in project management, social media or any other avenues of use to us and to you as a new skill.
- Experience of producing internal H&S and other policies.
- Open to learning to use publishing software, or experience using such software.
