Job Title: Virtual School Education Officer

Location: Remote/Home-based

Contract Type: Full-time

We are seeking an experienced Virtual School Education Officer to join our team. The post holder will have statutory duties to fulfil, involving the review of termly personal education plans (PEPs) for their caseload of around 35 Looked After Children and to challenge schools to deliver agreed targets for individual children.

**Responsibilities**:
Chairing and writing PEPs for Looked After Children.

Monitoring PEP usage.

Ensuring that the educational needs of Looked After Children are met.

Regularly reviewing and evaluating the progress of Looked After Children and updating their PEPs accordingly.

Working collaboratively with social workers, schools and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for Looked After Children.

Providing advice and guidance to social workers, schools and carers on the educational needs of Looked After Children.

Promoting the educational achievement of Looked After Children and raising awareness of their educational needs.

Providing training and support to schools on how to support Looked After Children.

**Requirements**:
A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.

Previous experience working as a Virtual School Education Officer or in a similar role.

Knowledge of the statutory duties and responsibilities of a Virtual School Education Officer.

Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures related to Looked After Children and education.

Experience of chairing and writing PEPs.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including social workers, schools, carers and other professionals.

Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of around 35 Looked After Children.

Strong IT skills and experience of working remotely.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 3-6 months

**Salary**: £176.89-£186.89 per day
