What’s the scope of the role?_**

Reporting to the Asset Operations Health and Safety Manager, the role will be expected to provide Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) support and advice to the operational Offshore Wind Farms, with the initial primary focus on supporting business HSQE needs to the NnG Wind Farm. The role will be active in supporting the operational Offshore Wind Farms, working closely with the Asset Operations HSQE Team, promoting a Zero Harm HSQE culture while establishing strong professional relationships with colleagues working at the coal face of the business.

The role will be based at one of the Offshore Wind Farms (Eyemouth / Blyth or Teesside O&M base), and you will need to work flexibly to provide required services and be prepared and willing to respond to business needs and be able to assist an emergency situation (the role also requires you to be part of the emergency call-out rota).

What you’ll be doing day to day._**

As **Regional Offshore HSQE Specialist** you will support the Site Manager’s in implementing the HSQE Policies in conjunction with implementing the HSQE Management System. You will monitor the effective implementation of appropriate HSQE system procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in regulation and or legislation. In addition, you will:

- Provide advice, direction, and support with regard to maintaining compliance with HSQE standards through the delivery of Human Performance coaching and support to all site personnel.
- Create a series of high and low level audit plans with feedback and recommendations for improved performance in conjunction with the wider EDF Renewables business, in order to achieve the highest level of governance.
- Drive best in class compliance and assurance performance via agreeing, monitoring and holding accountable the progress of KPI targets with all site management team members, and Contract Partners.
- Establish, communicate and maintain Quality Assurance processes for the site, including technical documentation and drawings provision.
- Responsible for supporting the Site Manager’s in maintaining the site health and safety file.
- Influence the site management team and associated Contract Partners on the delivery of organisational learning, continuous improvement and change initiatives, and competence evaluation.
- Provide support and advice across Major Component Replacements (CDM activity).
- Take part in accident / incident investigation.
- Carry out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans.
- Driving continuous improvement for the site by reviewing business performance from incidents, near hits, self-assessments and benchmarking, making recommendations for specific improvements feeding into the business improvement planning process
- Carry out HSQE awareness training as required.
- Take a lead in delivery of emergency exercises and drills, working collaboratively with the wider HSQE team.
- To liaise with the company Occupational Health Service provider, to ensure appropriate services are provided to the site-based team.
- Support the sharing of best practice and lessons learnt with the wider HSQE team.
- Contribute to the HSQE risk management process for risks generated by the company's activities (risk evaluation and prevention plans).
- Responsible for the safe compilation, delivery, implementation, and review of site HSQE process and procedures, working closely with the wider Asset Operations HSQE team.
- Liaise with Contract Partners on all matters relating to HSQE.

What do you need to be great at this role?_**

You will be qualified to NEBOSH National General Certificate level or equivalent, and have appropriate Engineering or Renewables experience and be a member of IOSH working towards being a Chartered member in addition;
- Demonstrable experience in HSQE positions, preferably offshore renewable wind generation.
- GWO certificates and valid medical.
- Effective English written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to influence behavioural and culture change with emphasis on driving HSQE operational activity.
- Ability to form effective working relationships with site staff at all levels, including the ability to influence behaviour by reasoned challenges and discussion.
- Good understanding of SSoW including WTSR (Wind Turbines Safety Rules) and HV (High Voltage) Safety Rules.
- Have competence as a trained risk assessor across the full range of qualitative and
