**Job overview**:
**An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the A&E Department at Fairfield General Hospital which is part of the Northern Care Alliance.**

Working with a team of Medical Secretaries, your work will help support the management of patients that are treated in the A&E Department.

Hours will be 0800-1600 or 0900-1700.

**Main duties of the job**:
You will provide a comprehensive Medical Secretary service to the Doctors, Consultants and Nurses in our A&E Department.

With a keen eye for detail and a passion for the care, you will bring your key skills and attributes to compliment the service and drive continuous improvement for our patients.

- A good understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook, audio typing experience (RSA II or equivalent)
- Ability to organise work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- An ability to communicate with people at all levels
- Excellent telephone manner including good listening skills

**Desirable criteria**:

- Previous rota experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of the Trust’s current information technology systems e.g, Medisec, iSOFT, PAS, CRIS, Symphony, Healthviews etc
